This is so great, I didn't even know I could be so into something like this. :) I mean, I knew I like philosophy to a degree and love intelligent discussions, but this. Wow.
I really love how well and subtly you can see the ways their respective pasts effect their views. Charles, because of his privileged life, can be more objective about a lot of things that tie into Erik's past, but Erik knows exactly what it's like to be the hunted minority, which in turn is a very hard concept for Charles to understand. So they both benefit from and are held back by their experiences with humanity. Well, this is what I was thinking while reading. (I hope that made some sort of sense; I'm having some trouble expressing myself in a foreign language, even if I'm decent with English. :D)
