I especially loved the variation in his way of thinking when he turned into Pads and how your grammar and sentence structure changed to perfectly (imho) reflect his doggy mind. "He smelled like happy" was totally my favourite line! It's not often people give Siri so much credit for his ability to understand other people and their emotions, so I like how you've turned that characteristic around to be that he understands too well, which is why he doesn't know the right thing to say - because there's many situations in life where there is no right thing to say.
