Okay, so something you might not know: I'm an actively practicing Catholic. Wonky, yeah? But I'm Italian/Irish, soo....that probably explains it as much as I'm ever going to. This fic made me so miserably horny, you have no idea. Agh! It was blasphemous, it was fantastic, it was wrong, AND I FUCKING LOVED IT.
Really though, it was very sweet and realistic and nice. It wasn't irreverent or anything, and I absolutely loved how Sirius' fucked-up family factored into this and Rita and...just the way this author translated the whole wizarding world to this non-magic AU was freaking brill. Oh, and did I mention the UST? Because there was that. A LOT of that. And I love me some UST ^.^ Definitely worth the 55k + word count, seriously.

This fic: oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. I was on the verge of tears throughout the entire 11k. Seriously. And Siri/Remi fic generally doesn't choke me up anymore because, yeah, been there done that. I know Remus' lycanthropy sucks, I know Sirius' prison sentence and then death sucks, yadda yadda. But this fic, oh my gosh. And it wasn't all sadness either, obviously: I absolutely loved Remus and Sirius' middle-aged adorable-old-couple-ness. I have a major thing for "old married couple" fics, and this one was just fab.
Oh, and the ending. I'm not going to spoil it, but my gosh. SO GOOD.

Awwwwww. I'm such a fluff-whore, I know, I know. The prompt choice also factored into my major bias with this one, because, come on: Bowie and Queen. Like, duh. I really liked how the author used the prompt as well: there was clear, incontrovertible influence by it, but it wasn't sloppy or forced in there. Loved it.

Genre(s): hurt/comfort, but mostly generic
Notes: The title comes from a French idiom (forgive me if it's wrong somehow. I have no French to speak of), 'between dog and wolf': the dusk time wherein it's impossible for one to know if the person approaching is friend or foe. It fit the whole feeling of the first war somehow, and the allusion to Sirius's and Remus's animal forms is too good to give up.

So, YES, basically. I absolutely love this artist's work as like, a rule, and this piece was no exception. I love the little snap-shot comics, as we go through Sirius and Remus' lives together. I LOVE, fucking love love love LOVE LOVE LOVE the second "Chapter": the Prank. Oh my gosh. When Sirius says "I'm not sorry", and his body language, and Remus' hand, and just....words cannot possibly say how much I fucking love that chapter. Oh my gosh.
